On Monday September 2, 2002 at approximately 3 am Alaska time, the first NABOS mooring equipped with a McLane CTD profiler was deployed from the Russian Icebreaker Kapitan Dranitsyn on the continental slope of the Laptev Sea shelf (78 26 N, 125 39 E) at a depth of 2,680 m. This mooring will remain in place for one year. This is a first deployment of a profiling system in the Russian Arctic!

Best regards from the first NABOS Russian-American Expedition to the Laptev Sea .
